The Challenge

It is a collection of healthy recipes and the wisdom of Chinese culture that rely on the knowledge of the 24 solar terms to harmonise with nature. It is also a product with an educational purpose, to provide a cultural context and a different aspect of knowledge of Chinese history for the West. The core spirit of this project is about improving wellbeing, both physical and mental health. The aim of this project is to think about how to tell the story and spread the joy to the audience, and bring humanity and emotions into this. 











 
The Solution

Brand Values : Natural, Spiritual, Health and Supportive.Brand Style : Clean, Warm, and Vibes.Brand Messaging : Harmony , Authentic and Timeless.The concept of this project focuses on recipes with Chinese herbs and eating with
the seasons. It will be a set of packagings with four cardholders that refer to four
seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. In the contents, there will be three
recipes and related Chinese herbs included within each season, in addition, the explanation of the 24 solar terms and Chinese proverbs will be introduced. 

					
				
			
		
	
The style of design intends to present an original and authentic style with elegance. The vivid colour selections demonstrate the uplifting vibes, which connect to the topic is about to spread good vibes. I emphasized the typography of seasons on the cover design, as an attraction for people to notice it easily. The concept is designed to make the layout clearer and more user-friendly.&#38;nbsp; Looking at the cover and knowing that it’s about the seasonal eating with Chinese herbs. Additionally, I hope to give a warm sensation to bring out the spirit of the concept.

The ChallengeThe Arena is a creative community and platform in the UK. Their purpose is to allow young creatives to learn about the industry and encourages networking building. This project is to design a brand identity and
relevant deliverables for an event.

					
				
			
		
	
 The SolutionThe name of this event is Elevate. Before starting to design it, I went through the
brand guideline of the Arena. When you decide to do something, you need passion
to have a motivation to do that. Like you really want it. So when you start to search
for advices and get supports, on this path, you also need courage to face challenges
or obstacles in order to make yourself growing and increasing the strength.

						The aim of this event is to guide young creatives, which means the TA will be the
people who have passion and courage to make a change. It might be a turning point
for most of them. Which refers to this stage for them is Changing and Shaping. My
design approach is to transform the brand spirit with the aim of this event. So I created the unit and brick element. Each person can be a unit and the young creatives is
just going to build up their career and find out what they need.

The ChallengeFollowing the period of liberalisation and democratisation in last three decades,
Taiwan, with a new identity as a post-modern globalized society, began to flourish.
Being Taiwanese, we have our own way of living with quality of life and plenty of convenient facilities, in addition, we know how to find simple happiness in this situation. 
My focus is to explain how we have developed multicultural society and make Taiwanese positive and unique features. Taiwan was colonized by Japan, the Netherlands and Spain, and they left behind a legacy and influences here. The colonial

The SolutionFor the concept, I would like to emphasize the
special personality of Taiwan, and that is how we live in our lives. To use Taiwanese biological species as the main elements, which refer to the natural
and simplest creatures. We keep our positive spirit to stand up for our imperious history
and our colonized past. I chose three species, each of these all represent different traits:

						• Formosan Black Bear : Determined and Courageous
Taiwanese people remain a proud and determined bunch.

						• Magellan Birdwing: Motivated and OptimisticThey focus on transformation and embrace the growth.

						• Formosan sika deer : Sympathetic and RespectfulTaiwanese people care for people and respect different cultures

						The design deliverable is a series of double side cards. One side is the introduction of Taiwan species with character descriptions. The other side is colonized history, which allows
people to understand our history and understand that even we had this kind of difficulty.
Taiwanese always keep an optimistic mind and fight back.

					
				
			
		
	
Develop self-awareness within a community is very crucial. If more people are able
to understand Taiwan and sympathize with its causes, we could gain more support
from all over the world. The fundamental factor is to get to know ourselves better so
as to promote our culture accurately and to have more influence. The choice of wild
animals to be the main elements is to represent the natural characters instead of
deliberately promoted.

						But we are all open to the acceptance and education of new cultures and new
things. That is because our history and our geography make our character so special, and I would like to let people know about it.

HEI LUN MEI ODEN&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;︎ Restaurant


Brand Identity &#124; Collateral &#124; Illustration

The Challenge
Odenmei, is the first chain of oden-focused restaurants and it has a long history originating in Tainan, a city in the south of Taiwan. From the outset, the client wanted to have a brand that took inspiration from traditional&#38;nbsp;design, but felt unmistakably the new generation.
The Solution
In this project, I used the Chinese calligraphy that stylized artistic writing of Chinese characters for the presentation&#38;nbsp;of&#38;nbsp;identity design.&#38;nbsp;It's not just a form of decorative art since it goes further to express the traditional spirit.&#38;nbsp;The idea behind of the food illustrations is that it shows the efforts restaurant makes, the long-hours preparation and the quality of any dishes.&#38;nbsp;I added the bright yellow colour into this project in order to reveal the new spiritual combination.

INVISIBLE DISABILITIES ︎ Activism &#38;amp; Provoke

The Challenge
Most people do not really
pay attention to people with disabilities or do not understand their life, and as a result, can feel awkward or avoid interacting with them. And that is not even to mention
those people with invisible disabilities yet. These are certain kinds of disabilities that
are not immediately apparent to others. Sometimes it is easy to judge people by the way you see them. We often pass&#38;nbsp; judgement on people from the outside rather than the inside. There are a lot of people with
disabilities who are less well treated and need assistance in getting support from
society, and that is more than we think. My attention is to raise people’s awareness
of human inequality through this project. 

					
				
			
		
	
The Solution
The requirement for this project is to design a zine. My approach is not only make a
printed zine, but also can make the interaction with the audience. I was focusing on the relationship between the layout and the structure of the zine, and consider a proper and acceptable way of manifesting content. I intended to use typography mainly to give attractive
attention so images come second in the hierarchy. For the colour palette, I wanted to
choose bold and strong colours, to avoid making the visual too
messy and colourful. 
One of the objectives is to educate people so that there’s a lot of context
to explain what an invisible disability is.

					
				
			
		
	
For the motion poster concept, 
I used the cover design to create a motion by revealing the letters over the surface. And the invisible disability bracelet is an idea of the invisible
disability wristband. It encourages people with
invisible disabilities to wear it to remind others
of their circumstances. This is to let the world
know you’re no more invisible.

They expected the new branding to be able to represent their experience and connect to clients with a great and impressing figure. 
The Solution
In order to form a bond with the clients, a brand needs to be transparent and authentic. Using compass reference for the identity is expressing a direct and strong message. That shows up the spirit of consulting - Be your guide. It's easy to understand what the direction of the company is and “buy-in” to the feeling of the brand's portraits.

						In particular, environmental awareness has increased over the past decade, there
are numerous ways to encourage people to take action, and recycling behaviour is
gradually improving. But there are times when it does not seem sufficient for society
to be well educated on the knowledge of recycling symbols. And this concerns me. 
It’s a sort of symbol that people see on a daily basis. But a lot of people are still unaware of what is and what rules should be followed. As a graphic designer, knowledge
of the recycling symbols will help as you design the visual exterior of the package or
any relevant product. Moreover, you can represent them on the layout considerably
and well designed. In the process, it is the benefit of having a chance to learn the
structure and ideas that underlie these original symbols.

						However, the ultimate goal is that I hope to help and improve human behaviour in recycling, and encourage the related departments to improve the symbol design which
easily misleads or overly complex. 

					
				
			
		
	

The Solution
An archive is not just for recording the information, it allows people to use it for
evidence and research. Based on the function of the catalogue, I have a tendency to
make a clear and logical arrangement. The data is readily available and explained.
Therefore, when the user reads it, they are capable of understanding. This involves
collecting recycling symbols that are used in different countries and various material
products.&#38;nbsp; In general, people will not be interested in reading archives
with a lot of data, this is a kind of tool function. For the solution, the design of the
cover I used the bright green colour with a big recycling symbol to get people’s at-
tention. And the background image I used recycled paper materials that reflects the

						The idea of an App development is to enable people to easily access information
about recycling and even when people travel to different countries with language difficulties. A meaningful recycling program can also help improve the environment and
lay the groundwork for communities that grow sustainably. This user interface design
is meant to be easy for an audience while having access to use it and feel that it is
interesting.
